THE LONG ISLAND ADVANCE - May 23, 2013

(HOME)

As I sit home on a Sunday morning I am awakened by the sound of gunfire. I am dreaming of the day the range is closed down and my family and I get our quality of life back. Why is this such a hard task to accomplish? Someone needs to stand up and shut this down. The range brings loud cars, loud people and gunfire that no one should be subjected to. As a resident of Yaphank, I thought we were one step closer to getting our lives back, but somehow we were let down yet again. I invite you to come to our block or even our home; I guarantee you that after one hour you would feel like you were going insane, too. We were let down yet again but we continue to fight for what we deserve. The range is simply wrong in so many ways. Think of the residents, the families, the children who want to grow up here in peace! Shut down the range and let us live in peace, please.
